TEFL
in Ireland
As Ireland's popularity as a major destination point for
students wishing to study English grows, so is the development
of the TEFL industry and the increasing number of opportunities
available to TEFL teachers and trainers.
Many schools are now
offering different TEFL training courses that is it becoming
a little confusing as to what course one should take. "English
in Ireland" highlights the main TEFL courses available
in Ireland that are recognised both nationally and internationally.
It is important to note that the Department of Education
& Science regulations require all trainees to undertake
ACELS
(Advisory Council for English Language Schools) recognised
TEFL certificate courses from 1st January 2005 in order
to be enfranchised to work in the quality recognised sector
in Ireland. Please note that if you need to check the status
of your academic qualifications, you should contact HETAC
(Higher Education & Training Council, www.hetac.ie).
