Government Recognition

While English in Ireland aims to provide an accurate account of all English Language Education providers in Ireland, it is important to note which providers are recognised by the Department of Education and Science.

It is important to ensure that high standards exist throughout the EFL sector and that courses in EFL schools in Ireland are comparable with other international courses. The Department of Education and Science has given the Advisory Council for English Language Schools (ACELS) the responsibility for monitoring the EFL sector.

As a result, all ACELS recognised schools viewed in the "English in Ireland" Database can be easily identified by the blue ACELS logo:
